Listed here are types of massage that we offer and some
others that are common kinds. If there are any styles that you
have questions about or that you don't see here, please contact us to
inquire.
Swedish - One of the most common massage
techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed
to energize the body by stimulating circulation.
This style is great for a first time massage.
Deep Tissue - Deep tissue is an effective massage
technique, which is directed specifically to individual muscle fibers.
Strong pressure is used through out the
massage and focuses on areas that are causing the most discomfort and
pain.
Myofascial - Fascia is the webbing that holds our organs in place and
connects muscle to bone. It also provides a smooth coating so muscles
can glide over each other. Myofascial Release is used to break
adhesions and return independent movement to muscles and organs. Slow,
gentle stretches are the most effective way to release this tissue.
Hot Stone Therapy - Smooth basalt stones are
warmed and applied to the body to transfer penetrating heat that deeply
relaxes muscles. It also encourages greater circulation and deep
relaxation.
Reflexology - Reflexology uses certain key
points in the feet, hands, and ears to stimulate organs and areas of the
body. This technique is
especially suited for those whose problem areas cannot be touched
directly and can be performed fully clothed. After the session, you
will feel as if you’ve had a full body massage!
Reiki - Pronounced “ray-kee”, and sometimes referred to as
“Laying-on-of-Hands”, is a type of energy work using a non-invasive
touch healing. This provides a sense of deep relaxation and is often
used in conjunction with other types of bodywork. It utilizes light
touch to comfort and relieve pain. |
